eDiscovery Search stuck in "queued" status

Hello,

We have a single eDiscovery search to be performed across all of our mailboxes(about 650) spread across 6 databases.  It has been stuck in a "queued" status for nearly two hours now.  There are no other searches scheduled, so I'm not sure what could be holding it back from initializing.  There are no errors that seem to suggest a problem.

I did upgrade to Exchange 2013 CU 9 yesterday, but it's been about a month since we've had to perform such a search, so I can't say for certain if the failure to progress is a symptom or a coincidence.

Any ideas?

Hi,

For your question, please run below command to ensure the System Mailbox and Discovery Search Mailbox exist:
Get-Mailbox Arbitration
Get-User Arbitration

If it not exist, the mailbox searches can be created and queued, but they cant be started. Therefor, we need re-create it. Please refer to: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg588318(v=exchg.150).aspx

If the issue persists, please run Get-MailboxSearch and event log to get more details about this issue.

Thanks
